      Associate Professor of English and Associate Provost Leona Sevick reads from her first collection of poetry, Damaged Little Creatures. Join us for this free poetry reading and signing.

      Dr. Sevick's poetry is published in Barrow Street, Slipstream, the Potomac Review, Tar River Poetry, The Florida Review and other journals.

      Free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase. Can be used as a Culture/Enrichment event for the Veritas program.

      Sevick’s heartrending poems achieve moments of grace and transcendence as they unravel delicate childhood memories, probe complex issues of identity, and wrestle with the impossible work of marriage and parenting.

       
       
    • Spin Time: 5:00p - 6:00p Location: Knott ARCC-Spin Studio Details:

      Instructors will guide you through several workout phases including warm-up, steady uptempo cadences, sprints, climbs, and cool-downs. You control resistance on your bike to make the pedaling as easy or difficult as you choose. Constant adjustment is normal. All you'll need is workout clothes, a towel (to wipe your face), a water bottle and lots of positive energy

      A method of physical and mental conditioning by blending basic Pilates exercises and Yoga poses.  This class stresses core muscle strength, as well as overall muscular lengthening and strengthening, through a series of exercises performed standing, seated, or lying on the floor.  Work to achieve a balanced body

       
       
    • BOOTCAMP Time: 7:30p - 8:30p Location: Knott ARCC-Group Exercise Studio Details:

      a fusion of cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility.  The majority of the exercises are performed with only your body weight; little to no equipment needed.  The objective is to “shock” the body efficiently and effectively to increase strength, heart/lung function, flexibility, and improve posture.  A variety of exercises are introduce at 3 different intensity levels allowing beginners to work alongside high-level athletes
