mate award

The Maryland Association of Teacher Educators (MATE) honors one distinguished teacher candidate from each Maryland institution of higher education annually.  Kelsie Bittle, C'18, is this year's recipient.  Kelsie is a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Teaching program with a Secondary English concentration. Dr. Barbara Marinak, Dean of the Division of Education, said that "Kelsie is truly deserving of the MATE Teacher Candidate for 2018 from the Mount. In her time in graduate school, Kelsie has excelled in all areas of her program. She brings to the classroom a deep understanding of the liberal arts, a belief that all students can learn, and a commitment to nurturing critical thinking. Kelsie is respected by her professors and looked to as a leader by her colleagues. Kelsie will serve the professional with passion and distinction. We are proud of all her accomplishments!" Congratulations Kelsie!
