Adult Undergraduate Business Degree

The adult undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Business focuses on ideas, communication, critical analysis, problem solving, and decision making. The business degree program also provides students with the abilities required to pursue graduate studies. The degree is complemented by real-life experiences provided by working adult students.

The Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business emphasizes the development of personal, professional, and organizational qualities and skills required to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s complex global business world. The business curriculum affords students opportunities to broaden their understanding of the environment of modern business and of the principles and processes for effective management of organizations. Required courses span the areas of management, marketing, business law, information management, analytical techniques, of decision making, and financial management.

Admission Requirements & Application

Individuals wishing to apply for admission in the B.S. in Business must meet the following requirements:

  • Completed application - Apply Online

  • Transfer 12 or more undergraduate credits from a regionally accredited (e.g., Middle States Association of Colleges) institution or its equivalent.*

  • A grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (2.75 GPA for education program) in prior undergraduate credits.

  • Completed declaration of college major form for business - See Academic Forms

  • Three or more years of full-time work experience

*In some cases, prospective students may need to take courses at a community college or an online university, on the basis of consultation with a Mount St. Mary’s advisor.

Program Details

Students must complete 120 credit hours of coursework to earn a B.S. in Business.* Courses are offered in 5- and 8-week accelerated classes that meet one night a week from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Mount's Frederick campus

Applications are accepted year-round. Entry points for enrollment are in the fall, spring, and summer.
