Professor Katy Dye explains why the flu vaccine changes every year in this installment of our video series Mount Minutes.
Through a myriad of majors, minors and pre-professional programs we seek to develop in our students an understanding of the process, the promise, and limitations of science, and the role of science as a creative force to be applied in an ethical manner to the problems facing humanity. We aim to provide our majors with a strong and broad foundation in the scientific principles and research techniques of their chosen disciplines and an understanding of the fundamental interrelatedness among the disciplines.
To achieve these goals, we seek to engage our students in the classroom and laboratory through excellence and innovation in teaching. In addition, we encourage our students to continue their education outside of their classroom by pursuing internships and research experiences both on and off campus. The combination of classroom learning and real-world experiences provides a foundation of knowledge and skills preparing graduates for successful admission to graduate and professional programs and direct entry into their field.
