Ring Tradition

For almost 100 years, Mount students have participated in the Ring Tradition, an experience that extends generations into both the past and future. Alumni proudly wear their rings as an outward symbol of their time at the Mount, their accomplishments, their memories and their Mountaineer pride.

The tradition begins every year in the spring, when the class ring is revealed and the sophomore class places orders. The following fall semester, students are then presented with these timeless symbols during a full Catholic mass, where the rings are blessed in the presence of family, friends and the Mount Community. That same evening, the junior class holds a Ring Dance to celebrate this momentous occasion.

Junior Ring Premier

MAY 1, 2018
Patriot Dining Hall, McGowan Student Center

At the Premier, the Class of 2020 ring design will be unveiled and the class ring will be available for purchase.

Throughout the course of the year, the Ring Committee worked to design a ring that is suited for their class.  The Mount values it's community and the Ring Committee hopes that the Class of 2020 ring design connects with each of their classmates on not only a personal level but a spiritual level as well.

Through a survey, the Class of 2020 selected the motto SI VIS AMARI AMA which translates to "If you want to be loved, love".
Explanation: We live at a timer where there is much discord around us. The status quo is being questioned and many are seeing the effects of their actions from the past. As a single class from the Mount, we will be the next generation of thinkers and critics who will continue to question the status quo. We must remember to love our neighbors in good faith just as God loves us in his eternal blessing.
