Patent Attorney Andrea Evans to Speak at Mount

Andrea Evans photoEMMITSBURG, Md. (March 5, 2018) – Andrea Hence Evans, an intellectual property attorney, will speak at Mount St. Mary’s University on March 15 about “Creating Wealth Through Your Intellectual Property: A True Asset.” The talk, scheduled for 6 p.m. in Knott Auditorium, is sponsored by the Palmieri Center for Entrepreneurship and Third Century Scholars. A reception will follow the presentation.

Evans is owner of The Law Firm of Andrea Hence Evans, LLC, an intellectual property law firm. She serves as a patent expert on the second season of “Make48,” a PBS show in which teams have 48 hours to plan, prototype and pitch a new idea within the specifications of a challenge, revealed at the start of 48 hours. Episodes are expected to begin airing this spring.

In addition, Evans is the owner of KidGINEER, LLC, a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) hands-on science and enrichment program for children ages 5-10 in grades K-5. She was awarded the 2011 Nation’s Best Advocate award from the National Bar Association and IMPACT, and she was recognized for being one of the Top 40 Lawyers Under 40. She is a frequent speaker at conferences.

Evans obtained a bachelor of science in mathematics from Spelman College and a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. She is a graduate of The George Washington Law School. Evans is a member of the Texas bar and the United States Supreme Court bar and is a registered patent attorney.  She can be found on social media platforms @evansiplaw.
