Academic Advising

At the Mount, we see advising as a form of teaching. That is why each Mount student is paired with one of their professors for advising. Beyond the formal matters of approving course schedules and monitoring your academic progress, your faculty advisor has probably already had you in their class, so they really get to know you, your interests and goals, and dreams for the future.

Celebrate Academic Achievement

Earning stellar grades is quite an accomplishment and we believe you should be honored for it. Not only will we do everything possible to help you maximize your academic potential, but once you reach that elite level we want to ensure you receive adequate recognition.

  • Honors Program

As an academically gifted student, you may be invited to join the Honors Program as an incoming student, or you may ask to join after your first year of study. This advanced educational experience integrates curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular learning and culminates in an intensive research project in your major during your senior year.

  • Office of Competitive Fellowships

This group recruits top students of the Mount community and works to help them recognize their talents, develop their long-term professional goals, and reach their full potential. The Fellowships team assists them in applying for highly competitive and distinguished awards, such as the Fulbright, Marshall, Rhodes, Goldwater, and Gates Cambridge Scholarships.

  • Dean’s List

Each semester students are recognized for outstanding academic achievement by the dean of the college they attend.

  • Academic Awards

Each year, the Academic Awards ceremony publicly recognizes graduating seniors who are being honored for academic and artistic accomplishments, service to the Church, and service to the community.
