Assistant Athletic Trainer

Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Northeast Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. The assistant trainer works under the supervision of the head athletic trainer and supervises care of student-athletes in 17 sports programs at Mount St. Mary’s University. The assistant trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the sports medicine program. This is a full-time 10-month salaried position.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses

  • Evaluation of athletic injuries

  • Treatment of athletic injuries

  • Providing counseling and education to student-athletes

  • Athletic training administrative duties

  • Assist with coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competition.

  • Supervision, education, and recruitment of student assistant trainers

  • Record keeping and documentation

  • Work with doctors and other health professionals to deliver care to student-athletes.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and NATA certification required, with professional experience in college athletics. Mount Saint Mary's University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
