Mount St. Mary’s University, a NCAA Div-I institution which sponsors 16 intercollegiate sports and competes in the Northeast Conference invites applications for the position of Certified Athletic Trainer. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to pursue a master’s degree and/or gain Div-I experience. Mount St. Mary’s University offers excellent graduate degree programs in Education, Business Administration, and Health Administration. In addition, the university also has strong ties with employers in the Baltimore-D.C. metro area.
The position for the remainder of this academic year; is a 7-month appointment beginning October 14th and ending approximately May 15th. Position is renewable each year on an August 15th to May 15th basis. Opportunity for summer camp work is available, but not required.
Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to injury prevention, evaluation, management, rehabilitation, and treatment of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes, supervision of student workers, health care administration in consultation with and under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, Team Physicians, and other qualified medical personnel, and other duties and assignments as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer. Candidates must be able to work a wide variety of assigned hours including nights, weekends, and travel.
Bachelor’s degree required. Applicants must be NATA/BOC certified by start date. CPR/AED certification must be current. To be considered for graduate school, applicants must meet graduate school admissions standards.
