Adjunct Instructors - Philosophy

Job Search Status:  Currently Accepting Resumes

Mount St. Mary’s University has an ongoing need for adjunct professors to teach in the Mount’s core Philosophy Program.  We are currently seeking qualified instructors to teach Foundations of Philosophy (a course covering classic texts in Ancient and Medieval Philosophy) and Philosophy in the Modern Age (a course covering classic texts in Modern Philosophy); and Ethics and the Human Good (a course covering classic texts in the history of moral philosophy). A Master’s Degree in Philosophy is required.  Teaching experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching are preferred.

Mount Saint Mary’s university is dedicated to providing common intellectual experiences in its core courses.  As such, many of the texts studied in the Philosophy courses are shared commonly across sections.  Training in teaching these texts is available.

Located in a serene mountain setting, yet near major metropolitan areas, the Mount is a comprehensive, nationally recognized university enrolling 1650 students and having a 14:1 student ratio.  We support an inclusive faculty that can engage the interests of an increasingly diverse student population.  Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
