Catholic Leadership Scholarship
The Mount St. Mary’s University Catholic Leadership Scholarship will be awarded to incoming freshmen who have distinctive records of service and academic excellence. The scholarship is valued at $32,000 and is distributed at the rate of $8,000 per year. Applicants must have a high school grade point average of 3.00 or higher combined with a minimum SAT score of 1200 (critical reading and math sections only) or a minimum ACT score of 26.
Catholic Leadership Scholarship recipients will be required to complete a Community Service Internship for five (5) hours per week with the Office of Social Justice and complete four (4) self-guided service projects within their home diocese or the Archdiocese of Baltimore; one in each of their four years. The internship will consist of helping to plan and execute community service initiatives for the Mount community. All awards are contingent upon completion of internship hours and four (4) service projects. Students must maintain a 3.00 GPA while at the Mount in order to retain the scholarship each year.
Application must fill out this student application by February 1, 2016. The applicant must be an accepted student of Mount St. Mary’s University at the time of application.
This application will include the Resume of Service.
Also included: write a 500 word essay that reflects on the four pillars of Mount St. Mary’s University – Faith, Discovery, Leadership, and Community.
