Meet the Career Center Staff
Clare Tauriello — Director of the Career Center
Clare has a masters of education degree in counselor education from Penn State University and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Ithaca College. She worked for many years at Penn State Mont Alto as the Career Services Coordinator and as the Division of Undergraduate Studies Coordinator. Prior to Penn State, Clare worked at Northeastern University and Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She has also taught at Frederick Community College in Frederick, Maryland. She has been interviewed by USA TODAY, monster.com, the Baltimore Sun and Frederick News-Post on a variety of career-related topics.
Jillian Ellis — Assistant Director of Recruitment & Employer Relations
Jillian earned her Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Western Carolina University, and her Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During the course of her studies she worked with multiple non-profits in the western North Carolina area as a non-profit coordinator, and as part of several consulting teams to bring needed HR products at no cost to the organizations. She has been working in the HR field for several years supporting HR and recruitment efforts in several organizations including System One Staffing, Clarks USA, and Pella Windows & Doors. She is committed to helping students develop their passions into sustainable careers and bringing fresh employment opportunities to the Mount.
Matthew A. Pouss — Assistant Director/Internship Coordinator
Matthew earned his master of science degree in counseling with a concentration in college student personnel from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his academic experience at Shippensburg, he held positions with volunteer services at Shippensburg University and residence life at Penn State Mont Alto. He also held internship and field experiences with Gettysburg College’s Center for Career Development and Office of Experiential Education plus Penn State Mont Alto’s Division of Undergraduate Studies. Matthew has a strong interest in aiding Mount students as they connect real field experiences to the excellent education they receive. As his initials allude (MAP), he strives to provide clear direction and insight to students as they discern their callings and vocations.
