Get away and experience America with the Mount's nationally recognized Break-Away program! Over each break, the Office of Social Justice heads across the country in partnership with some of the best community-based organizations in the world! Students spend a week in service to others while learning about systemic inequalities found in America and discovering more about their responsible role in society.

Fall Immersion Trips

Highlighted Experience: Camden, NJ

Spend the week of fall break serving others in one of the nation's most developing cities. Experience the extensive need of those within the Camden community by working within community kitchens, day and night shelters, and urban schools. Interact with the individuals who call Camden their home and spend time along side those who truly believe in the city's future and its invincibility in this life changing experience.

Spring Immersion Trips

Highlighted Experience: Jacksonville, FL

Discover fair and equitable housing opportunities through Habitat for Humanity's Collegiate Challenge. Partnering with Beaches Habitat for Humanity, join us for a week of construction, reflection, and sun.

Encounter: Belize

Do not miss this one-of-a-kind experience! Encounter: Belize is an incredible opportunity to embark on a 12-day expedition with the Office of Social Justice. Participants will be immediately immersed in a new climate, Mayan culture, explore the rainforest, be exposed to diverse cultures, and enjoy local delicious Belizean cuisine. Partnering with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, participants will spend five rewarding days serving the community. Join us in exploring the beauty of the natural world and experiencing global solidarity first-hand through the culture, people, and history of Belize.
