Graduate Programs in Education

Whether you're advancing your current teaching career or planning a new career as a teacher, the Mount has a graduate program for you! Our graduate programs in Education have a reputation of educational excellence. The following graduate programs are offered through the School of Education and Human Services:

Graduate programs at the Mount are especially attractive to working adults in the region due to a unique format that offers one night a week evening classes. Students are also recent graduates of the undergraduate education programs, as well as international students.

Academic excellence is supported by curricula designed to help graduate students to:

  1. acquire the essential skills of analytical thought and self expression,

  2. gain and integrate knowledge in various disciplines,

  3. acquire an understanding of other cultures,

  4. develop an awareness of the various facets of moral and ethical problems,

  5. achieve a high degree of personal fulfillment, and

  6. improve skills in pursuing independent study of educational issues within school communities. Classes are taught at both the Emmitsburg and Frederick campuses.
