Karl Einolf, Ph.D., Named Dean
Noted scholar will guide the Mount’s Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business
Emmitsburg, Maryland — Mount St. Mary’s University appoints Karl Einolf, Ph.D., as the Dean of the Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business.
“After an extensive nation-wide search, we are pleased Karl has accepted this position,” says President Thomas H. Powell. “Karl’s academic and corporate background, his steadfast dedication to the mission of the Mount, and commitment to our students and community are a great asset for the Bolte School of Business.”
Einolf earned a B.S. in mathematics and economics from Penn State University, an M.S. in business from Johns Hopkins University, and his Ph.D. in business and economics from Lehigh University.
Prior to coming to the Mount, he spent five years working for the Sprint Corporation in Carlisle, PA, and in Kansas City, MO, in various finance, marketing, and human resource positions.
Einolf joined the Mount in 1998, and was promoted to the rank of Professor in 2010. He is a recipient of the University’s Richards Award for Teaching Excellence, and he served for six years as the Director of the Mount’s Honors Program. Einolf is a renowned scholar and co-author of Management Economics. He has published papers in numerous business and economics journals, and has presented his work at national and international conferences.

Einolf lives in Carlisle, PA with his wife, Maria. They have two children, Nicholas (14), and Thomas (12).
