Emmitsburg Campus Event Spaces

Mount St. Mary’s University is a beautiful setting for your next conference or event. Our main campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland is located within an hour of major airports and is easily accessible via major highways.

Meetings or Conference Rooms

Our beautiful facilities can accommodate meetings and conferences for groups ranging in size from 10–500 people.

Meeting Rooms

Our meeting and conference rooms primarily consist of classroom space that can be configured based on your preferences. Our largest classroom can accommodate approximately 45 people. Each classroom is equipped with a multimedia podium, Internet access and an overhead LCD projector.

Auditoriums

Our two auditoriums offer meeting space for larger groups.

  • Laughlin Auditorium can accommodate approximately 104 people and is located in the center of our Academic Quad.
  • Marion Burk Knott Auditorium can comfortably seat 520 people and offers convenient parking and easy access to the highway. Both auditoriums are equipped with a sound system and overhead LCD projector.

Theaters

The Lynne and Joseph Horning Theater is a remarkable black-box venue which holds 150 patrons in its end stage configuration. This space is the perfect intimate venue for a variety of events including theater performances, concerts, recitals, lectures, private events and fundraisers. With state of the art sound and lighting equipment, dressing rooms, plush seating and a masonite dance floor with neoprene underlay, the theater is a versatile venue with rates dependant upon use and requirements. The Delaplaine Fine Arts Center is also ready to assist with technical production and box office assistance if needed. (Please note the Williams Gallery is not available for rental at this time.)

Athletic and Recreation Facilities

Our east campus offers a variety of opportunities for athletic camps, competitions, and tournaments as well as large scale conferences and events.

Athletic Recreation Convocation Complex (ARCC)

The ARCC is an excellent location for a large scale competition, conference, or commencement ceremony. In addition to the athletic/recreation facilities, the ARCC also features a large concourse area. There is an indoor pool that can also be reserved for certain events and/or used by our summer groups.

Knott Arena

The Knott Arena is home to our MAAC Division I Mount basketball teams. Seating capacity in the arena is approximately 3200 for basketball games and 4000 when the arena is set up for commencement or other large scale events.

Dillon Field House

The field house is the size of approximately four basketball courts and offers an indoor track as well. The courts can be set for basketball (maximum of three), volleyball, and tennis.

Athletic Fields

  • The Waldron Family Stadium features a turf field with lights for use year round, day or night, great for Soccer or Lacrosse
  • E.T. Straw Baseball Stadium is a beautifully maintained diamond with press box, bleachers, and grass seating area.
  • The Grass Fields on our east campus features 6 grass fields that can be configured based on your specifications. Our outdoor pavilion is a great location for your event concessions or team BBQ.

Dining Facilities

Patriot Hall

Our main dining hall can accommodate approximately 600 people for large banquets, proms, and receptions.

Seminary Dining Room

This space is perfect for smaller banquets or conference meetings and can accommodate approximately 140 people for dinner.

O'Hara Dining Room

The ideal location for more intimate dinners and gatherings, this space can accommodate approximately 45 people for dinner.

Dining & Catering Services

Mount St. Mary's University contracts with Aramark for all onsite dining and catering services.

Guest Dining Services

During the academic year guests have the opportunity to dine in our main campus dining room, Patriot Hall, on an a la carte, cash basis or by obtaining meal tickets through the Conference and Special Programs Office.

During the summer camp and conference season, our dining hall is open for our summer camp and conference guests and meals are served on an all-you-care-to-eat basis. Day visitors may purchase meals on an a la carte/cash basis or by obtaining meal tickets through the Conference and Special Programs Office.

Catering services

For catered meetings, banquets, and special events, our Aramark catering director will prepare a menu that meets the needs of your guests and your budget.

Aramark reserves the right of first refusal for all events scheduled on our campus. No outside food or catering is permitted unless it is approved through the Conference and Special Programs Office and by our director of dining services.

The university does not hold an alcohol license. For information on having beer or wine at your event please contact the Conference and Special Programs Office. No alcohol is permitted without prior approval.
