Writing Center

The university's award-winning Writing Center assists students in developing their skills in writing analytically and critically. We aim to meet immediate and long-term writing needs with our writing center services while at the same time providing a tool and learning experience.

Review sessions, whether in-person or online, are designed to focus on major concepts and skills in writing, such as effective paragraphing, coherence, flow, opening and concluding paragraphs, and formatting. While accommodation is given upon specific requests regarding grammar, spelling, and punctuation, review sessions should not be used solely for copy editing of papers. Instead, review sessions are provided to give students constructive feedback and the tools needed to grow and develop as writers. All forms of writing will be accepted for review.

Writing Center Session types

Available to students from all disciplines at all levels of skill, the center offers instruction in a variety of forms:

  • One-on-one tutoring

  • Short Courses
