Mount St. Mary’s University's renowned undergraduate accounting program is now offered in an accelerated format for working adults. Whether you're looking to increase your salary potential, become eligible to sit for the CPA exam, learn valuable skills to apply to your current job, or just looking to finish a degree to meet a personal milestone, the Mount's bachelor's degree in accounting will help you get there.
The Division of Continuing Studies strives to make it easy for adults to go back to school on a part-time basis, holding classes in the evening one to two nights per week at our convenient Frederick campus. It's important to us that you feel supported, can maintain your work-life balance, and have access to all of the resources you need to be a successful student.
Our faculty and advisors are here to work one-on-one with you to develop your degree plan, and to help keep you on track to finish your degree. We make the traditional college resources available to you to aid in your success, such as our Career Center, Writing Center, Library and Learning Services Office, just to name a few.
With the accounting degree you will also find unique student opportunities to help you grow in your field, such as access to the accounting club and formal presentation opportunities at conferences.

In this hands-on program you will work directly with financial statements and case studies to develop a thorough understanding of a firms financial activities and business position. You will also analyze financial behavior and discuss ethical decision making as it relates to accounting practice and procedure. Your accounting education at the Mount would not be complete without the examination of federal income tax laws and their application to individuals, a full understanding of the practice of auditing, and a solid two-course sequence in corporate finance.
