Instructional designers bring learning to life. They are educators, problem solvers, artists, project managers and partners. While they go by different names across industries, instructional designers work each day to help learners achieve their goals.
The undergraduate degree program in instructional design and technology is part of the Anthony F. and Alice G. Agnone School of Education. Courses in the major will cover enhancing instruction using technology, principles of graphic design, how to assess learning, applications of instructional design, and how to conduct research.
You will gain experience in all aspects of instructional design to find your specialty through interdisciplinary courses in communication, fine arts and business. You will gain a wealth of hands-on experience through an internship with an external partner and an in-house studio, where you will support Mount faculty, staff and administration with their instructional design needs on campus. Finally, you will leave with a rich portfolio of work from your professional collaborations using industry standard software.
