About the program.

Health professions advising at the Mount prepares you for a career in medical fields including allopathic, osteopathic and veterinary medicine, dentistry, podiatry, optometry, anesthesiology and more.

Solid preparation for a health profession involves more than just taking the right courses. The Mount’s health professions advising helps you develop a distinctive portfolio of achievements, skills and experiences to prepare you for both exams and life as a medical student, all while you complete your bachelor’s degree. Through collaborative research and publishing with faculty, along with a network of practicing health care professionals as “clinical mentors,” you’ll become a strong candidate for admission to medical or other professional schools and be prepared for the next phase of your career.

After graduation, you’ll have the education and experience necessary to begin your next phase of medical education as you pursue a career as an oncologist, helping patients through a cancer diagnosis, a vascular surgeon at a regional hospital or dentist at your own private practice.
