The Mount is honored to be partnering with Saxbys to launch The Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform (E.L.P.) on campus in the fall of 2022. Mount students will have the chance to serve as Student Cafe Executive Officers, managing all aspects of the cafe from team development and community leadership to drafting the profit and loss statement. Saxbys is a Philadelphia-based coffee company and a certified B Corp that values teamwork and commitment to community. The Saxbys E.L.P. empowers students to run their own impactful business and give back to their community. Their mission is to "Make Life Better" and be leaders of cutting-edge initiatives focused on student engagement and empowerment.
Every semester, Mount students have the opportunity to pursue projects with our partner, the Wolverhampton Wanderers of the Premier League in England. The “Wolves” is one of the oldest clubs in English professional soccer. Our partnership allows Mount students to work directly with club personnel on developing brand awareness and growth in the North American market.
The Mount partners with M&T Bank to provide educational opportunities to bank employees. Additionally, the partnership with the M&T provides experiential learning opportunities and internship-to-job pathways for Mount students. For more than 160 years, M&T Bank has been helping people and businesses manage their money and make sound financial decisions, empowering them to live better today and realize their goals for tomorrow. . M&T Bank is a regional financial services company with more than $120 billion in assets. It provides banking, insurance, investments, mortgage and commercial financial services through more than 750 branches, 1,800 ATMs and a variety of online and mobile services.
The Mount is partnered with Woodsboro Bank to provide educational opportunities to bank employees. Additionally, Woodsboro Bank provides experiential learning and internship-to-job pathways for Mount students. Woodsboro Bank is a community-based bank headquartered in Woodsboro, Maryland, and serving Frederick and the surrounding counties. They are an organization driven by servicing the community in which they live with compassion and dedication. It is their belief that strength and growth within the community comes first from a commitment to knowing its people.
Through the Mount’s partnership with Envestnet, finance students can pursue training and opportunities with BlackRock and Fidelity, both investment management and financial planning companies. The Envestnet Institute On Campus aims to provide students with the resources to explore careers in finance and realize their goals.
The Mount’s partnership with Matera Argentina provides experiential learning opportunities in international supply chains, sustainably farmed products, and the marketing and distribution of yerba mate in the US market. The partnership will provide Mount students with practical skills and an opportunity to visit farms and production sites in Argentina. Additionally, Matera Co-founder and CEO Maria Virginia Solis Wahnish is connected to the Economy of Francesco and the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, as is Mount St. Mary’s. “The company is a perfect example of the Laudato Si Action Platform and promotion of the Economy of Francesco. In the Bolte School, we bring together Laudato Si’ values and effective business practices to develop students who will lead extraordinary lives in service to God and others," noted Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business Dean John Nauright, Ph.D. Students will have an opportunity to travel to Argentina in the 2022-23 academic year and learn about all aspects of Matera’s production.
The Mount is partnered with Old Glory Rugby Club, the Washington, D.C. franchise in Major League Rugby. We have numerous opportunities for our students to work game day events, participate in experiential learning and undertake internships with the organization. The team currently plays in Leesburg, Virginia, which is an hour from the Emmitsburg campus and 40 minutes from the Frederick campus. Old Glory also holds their preseason training camp at the Mount with further opportunities for student engagement.
As part of the activities of the Global Rugby Leadership Institute and sport management programs, the Mount has established a partnership with Premier Rugby Sevens, the first officially-sanctioned professional rugby 7s competition in the USA. The inaugural tournament was held in Memphis, Tennessee, in fall 2021. Mount students have the chance to work on marketing projects in partnership with the team at Premier Rugby Sevens, including use of NFT technology and cryptocurrency.
The Mount’s sport management program and the Global Rugby Leadership Institute (GRLI) have partnered with the new International Rugby Experience (IRE) in Limerick, Ireland. The 30,000 sq. ft. IRE building opens its doors in autumn 2022 for a global celebration of the game of rugby. The experience spaces will form a linear journey through the building, taking visitors from the grass roots of rugby through training, the importance of determination and skill, and the role of the wider team, culminating in the greatest rugby moments on the international stage. The stories in each space are underpinned by the world rugby values of passion, discipline, integrity, solidarity and respect. Bolte School students will assist in developing marketing plans for the IRE for the North American market, and the GRLI will work with the IRE on educational programming.
The Mount is partnered with PlayWize, a digital platform connecting players with professional and college sporting opportunities around the world. Their team is composed of of ex-Olympians and professional-athletes-turned-technology-experts, who love helping players in the sporting industry take control of their success. Mount sport management students can work with PlayWize while learning digital skills necessary for the 21st-century sports marketplace. Experiential learning and internship opportunities are part of the innovative partnership with PlayWize.
We work with Saana Koljonen.com to offer leadership and transformational workshops. Students also work on developing business plans for consulting and services for companies with start-up mindsets. We partner to promote the company’s Authentic Excellence through Performance Coding to excel and win more. This 12-week program focuses on making people ready to perform at their highest level through examining their own personality and strengths as athletes and re-coding their relationship with performance. We also partner on activities in their Empowerment Academy for professional development education.
The Mount partners with the Performance Chain for the development of leadership training programs and in analyzing human performance in the workplace and on the sports field. Students work directly to develop the Performance Chain as a business in the USA. The Performance Chain, along with Saana Koljonen, partners with the Global Rugby Leadership Institute in developing leadership training models for post-playing career success. Additionally, experiential learning and internship-to-job pathways are available for students at the Performance Chain.
The Farm of Francesco and Mount St. Mary’s University have partnered as a concrete answer to Pope Francis’ call to answer the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor. The Farm of Francesco is a global community of practice, supported by key organizations working in synergy and in a synodal process with the Farm of Francesco by developing and institutionalizing partnerships with key organizations and processes serving farmers at various levels from local to global.
