A message from the Dean

Welcome to the Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business at Mount St. Mary’s University. We are at the cutting edge of business education with degree programs in accounting, business, economics, entrepreneurship, health administration and sport management. The Bolte School also offers graduate certificates in logistics and supply chain management, project management, organizational development, forensic accounting, and a collaborative program in data science. We offer MBA concentrations in: marketing, management, international business, healthcare management, not-for-profit management, personnel and industrial relations, accounting, and finance and investments. We also operate a Master of Healthcare Administration and a Master of Sport Management, in addition to our many undergraduate business offerings.
We are the home of the Center for Integral Ecology, Economics, and iMpact (CIEEM); the Palmieri Center for Entrepreneurship; the BB&T Center for the Moral Foundations of Capitalism; and Bloomberg Stock Trading Lab. The Bolte School offers traditional programs on our main campus in Emmitsburg, accelerated undergraduate and graduate programs in Frederick, Maryland, in online or hybrid format. Graduates of the Bolte School are trained by world-class faculty and industry professionals, through classroom and experiential learning opportunities, to be ethical leaders who are inspired by a passion for learning and lead lives of significance in service to God and others.
As a Laudato Si’ University, the Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business and Mount St. Mary’s University are embedding the Economy of Francesco as well as the core principles from Caritas in Veritate and Laudato Si’ into our programming, education and development of a new generation of business leaders focused on creatively solving challenges of our world. Together with international partners, we are forging a new path for business operations and solutions based on the urgent call in Laudato Si’ to apply what we are learning to reshape our world in a sustainable manner that respects ecology, environments and humanity.

    At the Mount, we are using the model for Integral Impact Ecology to transform our students in the classroom, create positive synergies with local businesses and organizations, and partner with international groups and peoples to co-create new opportunities for integral human development. We then unleash students’ creative problem solving initiatives through support of the CIEEM and the Palmieri Center for Entrepreneurship.

  • Bloomberg Finance Lab

    The Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business Bloomberg Finance Lab provides real world experience for students in the fast-paced business and finance environment, training them to succeed in the constantly changing world of the global markets.
