The Division of Continuing Studies consists of a Center for Accelerated and Adult Education, Graduate School and Center for Lifelong Learning. The Center for Accelerated and Adult Education and Graduate School operates to assist those of you who want to earn an undergrad or graduate degree, and may not or may not have the time to be a full-time student.
Our division operates from Mount St. Mary’s University Frederick campus and online, where it offers convenient, flexible and affordable online and evening courses intended for working community college and adult students. Our faculty and staff are experts in their fields, but more importantly, they understand what it takes for working students to make the commitment to earn their degree. And they are here to give you the support and encouragement to reach your goals.

In 1999, we began serving working community college and adult students with convenient evening and online classes in Frederick, Maryland. For over 25 years, we have been providing opportunities for adult students to achieve their learning and career aspirations! Whether you are a student enrolled in a professional development or certification program, an undergraduate student or a graduate student, courses at the Mount’s Frederick campus and online provide a dynamic intersection of education and the real world. Some of our faculty are full-time university professors, while others are working professionals in their chosen careers by day and professors here by night. This combination helps students not only learn the concepts in their field of interest but also see how theory fits into concrete experience.
