The next workshop this semester in the Transforming the Mount professional development certificate program for employees will be HR 105: Workday Recruitment for Hiring Managers. Facilitated by Kristin Hurley, it will be offered on Thursday, February 19 from noon to 1 p.m. on Zoom. This workshop counts toward the Human Resources track, and is for Mount employees only.
This session equips Mount hiring managers with the tools and understanding needed to navigate the Workday Recruitment module effectively. Participants will learn how to review applications and move candidates through the hiring process in alignment with Mount's recruitment procedures. Whether you're new to hiring or looking to refine your process, this workshop provides a helpful foundation to support successful recruitment at the Mount.
Please register in advance. Register as soon as possible so we can place an accurate order for lunch. You can use the same registration link to sign up for other professional development workshops offered this Spring.

The National Shrine Grotto invites you to join us for a Day of Retreat with Retreat Master Fr. Dwight Schlaline! Fr. Dwight Schlaline is the pastor of the historic Sacred Heart Basilica (aka “Conewago Chapel”) located near Hanover, PA. He has served as a priest of the Harrisburg Diocese since June 2010; first at St. Patrick Church in Carlisle, then at Our Lady of the Visitation in Shippensburg, and now in Hanover. A fellow overthinker, Fr. Dwight asks, “Has someone ever said: You think too much. Why don’t you just let it go?” Have you ever tried to stop ruminating about something but just couldn’t do it? It’s possible to be free from overthinking. Visit nsgrotto.org/events for more information. Come out and let’s see what God can do to heal our minds and hearts. Questions? Contact Lisa Rush at 301-447-5521 or l.m.rush@msmary.edu.
Reminder: if you are returning to the Mount next year (26-27) you may complete the FAFSA for 2026-2027 by logging into studentaid.gov with your FSA ID. Be sure that Mount St. Mary’s University school code, 002086, is listed on your FAFSA. FAFSAs take three days to process before we will receive the information.
Only one person needs to start the FAFSA, and as a part of the process can invite another to be a contributor. When the other contributor receives the invitation, they can then complete their part. Once your FAFSA is processed, the student will receive an email letting them know that the information has been sent to the schools listed and that they can view the FAFSA submission summary by logging onto studentaid.gov.
For Maryland students, it is imperative that you complete your FAFSA prior to the end of February. Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) awards state funds based on FAFSA data, and the FAFSA must be to them by March 1. When you complete the FAFSA, MHEC will also receive your FAFSA and then will review it for aid.
The Human Resources and Community Engagement Office invites you to participate in our Sacred Spaces & Campus Places spring series. Upcoming events are listed below:
