SpringFest Details:
This Saturday morning, sixteen state and local police detectives and forensic experts will converge on the second floor of the Academic Center to evaluate teams of three Mount students as they conduct a crime scene investigation. The scenario is based on an actual case from Pennsylvania that was solved by Pennsylvania State Police detectives.
Each Mount team will have 50 minutes to process the scene and an additional 50 minutes to analyze the evidence. During this time, they will complete a finished crime scene sketch, present their crime scene photographs, collect fingerprints and DNA swabs, and prepare a comprehensive crime scene report for judging.
At the conclusion of the investigations, all participants will move to Laughlin Auditorium to hear from the detectives who worked the case, as they explain how the crime was solved and how justice was brought to the victim and their family. Members of the Mount community are welcome to attend this presentation in Laughlin Auditorium at 1 p.m.
Following the presentation, the winning team will be announced, and each member will receive a $100 monetary award.
