The next workshop this semester in the Transforming the Mount professional development certificate program for employees will be MM 105: Spirituality: Cultivating Friendship with God as a Community of Faith. Facilitated by Fr. Justin Gough, it will be offered on Thursday, April 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in O’Hara Dining Room and by Zoom. This workshop counts toward the Mission and Ministry track, and is for Mount employees only.
This workshop offers an introduction to prayer and spirituality that will demonstrate that anyone can pray and enjoy friendship with God. Drawing upon the Catholic Church’s rich spiritual tradition, we will examine the Examen Prayer, methods of praying with Scripture, and devotion to Mary. Participants will also be encouraged to consider incorporating prayer in their daily life and work here at the Mount, especially with their co-workers. This session is open to everyone no matter where you may be on your spiritual journey.
Please register at least one (1) week in advance if you wish to receive a meal. You can use the same registration link to sign up for other professional development workshops offered this Spring.

Mount Students,
The Mount strives to continuously improve the student experience and the best way to do that is by listening to you … the students! Your thoughtful and honest responses to this survey are very important to us and will lead to positive change. For example, we read all of your feedback from the student experience survey last fall and used it to modify the menu of activities this spring.
Students who complete the survey will be entered into the two weekly drawings for prizes including $50 gift cards, portable, wireless keyboards, and power bank chargers. Your odds of winning will be highest in the first week, so take the survey now! The survey will take about 15 minutes. Your responses will remain confidential and will only be reported in aggregate.

Help us make the Mount experience better for everyone! Thank you for participating!
Public Safety Partners with State of Maryland and MIEMSS to Expand Naloxone Access Through AED Co‑Location Program:
Public Safety is proud to partner with the State of Maryland and the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS) to support a statewide initiative to co‑locate naloxone with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in accordance with Senate Bill 1099 (SB 1099).
Through this program, two doses of naloxone will be placed alongside designated public‑access AEDs, enhancing the ability of bystanders and first responders to quickly intervene in opioid‑related emergencies while remaining compliant with Maryland law. Naloxone kits will be available across Mount St. Mary’s University’s Main Campus, East Campus and Athletics facilities, and the Frederick Campus.
This initiative will integrate with the state AED registry, with MIEMSS developing an in‑house system that includes both AED and naloxone locations. The MIEMSS‑managed registry will improve real‑time access for 9‑1‑1 centers, support faster emergency response, and improve outcomes during cardiac arrest and opioid overdose incidents.
Public Safety remains committed to advancing campus and community safety through proactive partnerships and lifesaving preparedness. For more information, watch this video or contact the Department of Public Safety.
