Several programs in the School of Education lead to certification for teaching and these are specified on each program’s webpage. An advisor in the School of Education will be assigned upon the student’s admission to a teacher education program, though the primary advisor resides in the major department. The student is responsible for knowing and meeting the requirements and deadlines for internship, program completion and certification, as well as all graduation requirements of the major department and of the university. The Maryland Approved programs meet requirements for certification in Maryland and some other states. Students are advised, however, to consult certification requirements in states of interest early in their study.
The Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis core course sequence has been verified by the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). The program is designed to make the student an expert in applied behavior analysis, as well prepare the individual to be a certified behavior analyst by aligning with the Verified Course Sequence of ABAI.
