Division of Graduate, Professional and Continuing Studies

Designed for working adults. The Division of Graduate, Professional and Continuing Studies operates to assist those who want to earn an undergraduate degree but may not have the time to be a full-time student. Our division operates from Mount St. Mary’s University Frederick campus, and offers convenient evening and online courses intended for working adults. Our faculty and staff are experts in their fields, but more importantly, they understand what it takes for working adults to make the commitment to earn their degree. And they are here to give you the support and encouragement to reach your goals.

A bachelor’s degree for working adults.

Our program combines a curriculum rooted in cutting-edge research findings with hands-on internships to prepare you to face any challenge. The human services program is designed for working adults. As a student in the Mount's program you will:

  • Finish at your own pace. Courses are offered year-round in accelerated 5 and 8-week sessions. Take the courses you need at your convenience.
  • Attend convenient classes. Meet part-time one night per week (6-10 p.m.). Our Frederick campus is minutes from I-70 and I-270, near the FSK Mall.
  • Receive specialized support for adult students. One-on-one advising and a customized degree plan are available and encouraged for all students.

Affordability

$530 - Cost per credit.*

  • An additional fee is applicable to internship I ($140) and internship II ($170).
  • Students are accepted with a minimum of 12 credits and may transfer in up to 75 credits from a two-year institution.
  • No application fee.

Financial Aid

Financial assistance may be available through federal and state-funded programs, private loan providers, and employer tuition remission or reimbursement. Request info to learn more.

Admissions & Application

  • Classes begin: Year-round.
  • Admissions: Rolling.
  • Priority application deadline: Four weeks prior to the start of the first class.

The Mount's adult undergraduate completion degree programs are for individuals looking to apply previous college credit toward a bachelor's degree.

Admissions Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional work experience.
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Minimum of 12 transferable credits from an accredited two or four-year institution. Students may transfer up to 75 credits from a two-year institution or 90 credits from a four-year institution.
