Prepare for a career in business and finance

As of January 2018, Mount St. Mary’s renowned undergraduate accounting program is offered in an accelerated format for working adults. Students may take advantage of traditions like the annual accounting career fair and the national Federal Reserve Challenge competition.

Division of Graduate, Professional and Continuing Studies

Designed for working adults. The Division of Graduate, Professional and Continuing Studies operates to assist those who want to earn an undergraduate degree but may not have the time to be a full-time student. Our division operates from Mount St. Mary’s University Frederick campus, and offers convenient evening and online courses intended for working adults. Our faculty and staff are experts in their fields, but more importantly, they understand what it takes for working adults to make the commitment to earn their degree. And they are here to give you the support and encouragement to reach your goals.

Complete your bachelor’s degree in Frederick

As a student in the Mount's adult undergraduate accounting program you will:

  • Attend convenient classes. Classes meet one night per week (6-10 p.m.). Our Frederick campus is minutes from I-70 and I-270, near the FSK Mall.
  • Finish at your own pace. Courses are offered year-round in accelerated 5- and 8-week sessions. Take the courses you need at your convenience.
  • Receive specialized support for adult students. One-on-one advising and a customized degree plan are available and encouraged for all students.

Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the CPA exam. Those interested in furthering their knowledge can also earn a graduate certificate in forensic accounting and fraud investigation.


$530 - Cost per credit.* No additional fees.

  • Students are accepted with a minimum of 12 credits and may transfer in up to 75 credits from a two-year institution.
  • No application fee.


Financial Aid

Students may seek financial assistance through federal and state-funded programs, private loan providers, employer tuition remission or reimbursement, or deferment of undergraduate loans.

Admissions requirements

The Mount's adult undergraduate completion degree programs are for individuals looking to apply previous college credit toward a bachelor's degree. Admissions requirements include:

  • 3+ years of professional work experience.
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Minimum of 12 transferable credits from an accredited two- or four-year institution. Students may transfer up to 75 credits from a two-year institution or 90 credits from a four-year institution.
